Description
If you think women in their forties are over the hill, no longer sexy, have reached their peak, or are irrelevant, you are f*cking mistaken. #NoApprovalNeeded is a spicy mix of Sex and the City, Daring Greatly, and You Are A Badass.
Author, Kris Macc, interviewed women in their forties, from all over the world.
Their stories and perspectives are relatable, entertaining, insightful, and provocative. Their confessions are human, vulnerable, bold, beautiful, and flawed. This book will hit you in the feels… get ready to laugh, cry, reflect, and be inspired.
#NoApprovalNeeded is based on confidential conversations; the type you would hear among close friends. Find out what the women think about: being in their prime, other women, family, money, their career, mom guilt, vulnerability, love and loss, their bodies, aging, sex, libido, romance, relationships, affairs, soul mates, and the future.
This book is for anyone interested in living authentically without needing permission… women in mid-life, younger women wondering what to expect, older women who understand it only gets better, and for men who want a sneak peek into the psyche of women.
#NoApprovalNeeded includes thought provoking questions for self-reflection and empowerment or as a reader’s guide for book clubs. Helpful tips and additional resources are provided to help you on your journey of living your best life.
Excerpt from the book
I am fascinated by how our humanness manifests in our daily lives and relationships. I find that many of us have constructed a persona that is safe to present to the world. We go to great lengths to pretend and hide our flaws and vulnerabilities from others. The truth is we are flawed and that is what makes us interesting. I am not interested in perfect. Perfect is boring and it doesn’t exist; perfect is an elaborate facade. I am more interested in authenticity and perfectly imperfect. I wanted to focus on our humanness. I wanted to talk about the things we share with our friends and colleagues. Moreover, I wanted to shine a spotlight on the secrets we don’t share with anyone. Being real is interesting.
